Buttermilk Quick Bread
Hello people of the universe! Happy Thanksgiving and BLACK FRIDAY MADNESS to you all! Today I woke up in some weird allergy medicine haze, so I decided to bake. Baking on drugs? AGAIN? Yep, but this time it was a complete opposite from the NYQIL COOKIE MELT but then again I did make sure I read the instructions about five times.
Ingredients
2cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1-teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups buttermilk
¼ cup melted butter
2 large egg whites
Cooking spray
-Preheat oven to 350 °
First I took a stick of butter, measured it out to a ¼ cup and threw it in the microwave to melt. I put it on for about 35 seconds and it was able to melt without exploding. Then I went back for the dry ingredients. I mixed up the flour, sugar, baking soda, and the salt in a big bowl until every ingredient had introduced itself to one another. Next I created a well in the flour (aka a ditch, a hole, Boston’s big dig) for the liquids. I took my melted butter out of the microwave and added the buttermilk and egg whites, stirring it a bit with my fork. I saved time and egg yolk by just using one of the ALL WHITES from eggbeaters. The box tells you how many eggs are in the carton, and for this I used about 1/3 cup of liquid egg whites for my 2 eggs. From here I just mixed everything together until it was just moist.
(I used a fork and a spatula to make sure everything was all mixed together)
The mixture met a sprayed bread pan and then the pair married in the oven for about 43 minutes. I let it sit for about ten minutes before cutting as well. The end result was a golden brown bread that was moist, not burnt, and delicious with butter and cream cheese.
I’m caught in a bread romance.

Dango, that looks like it has a really good texture for a quick bread. I gotta try this out once I get some more buttermilk
